Brightwood Park, Crestwood, Petworth and 16th Street Heights, are pleasantly situated at the edge of Rock Creek Park, which offers a myriad of opportunities for cultural experiences, physical exercise, and plain ol’ relaxing’. Live music and Shakespearian theater performances are offered at the 4,200-seat outdoor Carter Barron Amphitheatre. Alongside it is the William H.G. Fitzgerald Tennis Center which hosts the Legg-Mason Tennis Classic tournament, as well as year-round activities of the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation, a community-based program that works to foster the potential of Washington, DC teens. Within Rock Creek Park, there is a public golf course, a horse stable, and miles of hiking and jogging trails.
